David, a bright fourteen-year-old boy living in an institution had given up hope of finding a family. Rick wanted to become a parent. Family Focus brought them together. David was scared. Would he be rejected as he had been so many times before? Rick was scared too. He had never been a parent before. The first year had many ups and downs but David grew to trust Rick. Rick became more confident that he had what it took to be a parent to David. They decided to become a family. David is now preparing to go to college and wants to become a social worker and help other children like him - or rather, like he used to be.
