I Never Dreamed...

I never dreamed that day care would be so expensive! But more importantly that it didn't really matter.

I never dreamed I'd love him so much and be so proud of his every accomplishment.

I never dreamed how rich, rewarding, difficult, exciting and fulfilling my life would be with two children.  For me it is like all of a sudden seeing in color and being able to laugh for the first time.

I never dreamed that my life could be so full, so busy, so involved, so full of every emotion possible. My large multi-ethnic family, which includes special needs children, never allows you to wonder what can you do today. All situations present itself and this makes for never a dull moment. Birthday parties every month, Holidays abound with children and grandchildren, and extended family. Who would want it any other way? We started to adopt many years ago and have grown as parents and people by adding to our family several special needs children who had no voice in saying if they wanted to be adopted or not, not to mention wanting US as their parents. We have grown as 'people' becoming better accepting of everyone... learning from our autistic non verbal son, whose smile 'says it all' and our brain damaged multi-handicapped son who was diagnosed as never being able to walk or talk. Today he uses braces to get around and although mentally challenged, can sing every word of many songs and is a happy person. He loves life.
