FAMILY FOCUS ADOPTION SERVICES was founded and is still staffed and run by many adoptive parents. One afternoon, while discussing our individual experiences, and how they help us to develop and share our philosophies and practices through our agency, one of our staff members talked about her son, and how her family has changed since his adoption. It was not the kind of story you find in a fairy tale book. It was a real story about a real family and a real child. And the story began with these three words:
