The 2010 Human Rights Campaign All Children-All Families Seal of Recognition
 
This initiative seeks to enhance LGBT cultural competence among child welfare professionals and educate LGBT people about opportunities to become foster or adoptive parents to waiting children. Not only was Family Focus one of the first agencies in the US to receive this recognition, but Rich Buley-Neumar, Family Transition Specialist, was certified as an ACAF trainer to work with other agencies on earning their seals. The 2010 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Adoption Excellence Award 

Received by Family Focus Adoption Services in the category of 'Support for Adoptive Families.' The Adoption Excellence Awards grew out of the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997. The awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in achieving permanency for America's children waiting in foster care. The Adoption Excellence Awards honor States, local agencies, private organizations, courts, businesses, individuals, and families who are making key contributions to increasing the number of children from the foster care system who are adopted or placed in other permanent homes. The 2010 Voice for Adoption Drenda Lakin Memorial Award for Continuing Service to Adoptive Families

This award honors a state, nonprofit organization, or individual whose programs provide valuable adoptive family support after adoptions are finalized. For more information about Voice for Adoption, click here.

The 2009 National Child Labor Committee's Lewis Hine Award 

Received by Jack Brennan, Associate Director. This award recognizes the unheralded professionals and volunteers who devote extraordinary time and energy to helping children and youth. Articles announcing this award were printed in several newspapers including the Mid Hudson Times (NY, Wednesday, April 15, 2009) as well as on the website New York Nonprofit Press.

The 2003 Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute's Angels In Adoption Award

Received by Family Focus Adoption Services. This award honors an individual or entity from their district that has made an extraordinary contribution on behalf of children in need of homes. The 2002 North American Council on Adoptable Children's Adoption Activist Award 

Received by Jack Brennan, Associate Director. This award publicly recognizes the recipient's outstanding service and achievements in the area of adoption and child welfare.

The 1988 North American Council on Adoptable Children's Adoption Activist Award 

Received by Maris Blechner, Executive Director. This award publicly recognizes the recipient's outstanding service and achievements in the area of adoption and child welfare.
